Opening doors to Italy’s M&A market
With over 15 years of experience in the Italian M&A market, I support international strategic investors, foreign industrial groups and financial investors in identifying Italian investment and acquisition opportunities.
At a medical trade show, a manager from a global US private equity firm introduced me to an executive from a Polish multinational by saying: “Paolo opens doors.”
I am a point of reference for foreign buyers wishing to invest in Italy.
A few examples
I advised the American CFO of a Belgian multinational company in the acquisition of an off-market Italian company. While he had already established contact with the target, he lacked the local M&A market knowledge, while the Italian shareholders had limited proficiency in English. I assisted the client bridging technical, cultural, and linguistic gaps between the parties.
I sourced and presented an Italian add-on acquisition opportunity to a Spanish company with approximately €300 million in annual revenues, a portfolio company of a global private equity firm. The opportunity generated significant interest, leading the CEO to visit the target.
I have been engaged by a European family office to identify and acquire small Italian companies operating in a specific sector. In addition to sourcing opportunities, I worked closely with the investor’s representative to assess potential targets and facilitate management meetings.
My background
I worked as a Chartered Accountant (Dottore Commercialista) for over a decade, providing a wide range of financial services to multinationals. The accounting firm I worked for and later managed was a founding member of an international association, where I served as European Director.
Subsequently, as an independent professional, I combined financial services with interim management of Italian subsidiaries of foreign companies, as well as M&A advisory. In 2016, together with colleagues, I founded an M&A firm specialising in cross-border transactions.
As my firm’s representative on the board of a global M&A network with HQ in UK, I contributed to its creation and subsequent development, with the network now present in over thirty countries.
Throughout my career, I have worked with companies from over ten countries across North America, Europe, and Asia.

Consulente in M&A.
